Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street Review: Refreshing & Complex

In our Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street perfume review, we’ll scrutinize a relatively popular unisex fragrance. Of course, perfumes are a subjective experience. But that’s never more true than when dealing with unisex fragrances, which offer a slew of dynamism and versatility.

Bleecker Street Review: Getting Started

Bond No.9 named Bleecker Street perfume after the name of one of the company’s street addresses. Bond No.9 resides in three New York City locations, including a now-famous 399 Bleecker street address.

In Bleecker Street, we first must observe the creativity and craftsmanship put into the bottle by designer Rachel Katz. There’s a bit of a techno feel in the sprawling star featuring deep green and purple hues. The Bleecker Street bottle is vibrant and energetic, if nothing else.

Katz’s design makes Bleecker Street’s bottle one of the more unique undertakings in the perfume industry. The fragrance certainly stands out resting on a shelf, but what does Bleecker Street perfume smell like?

What Does Bleecker Street Perfume Smell Like?

Bleecker Street perfume offers a notably fruity scent encounter. Given its woody base notes, Bleecker Street is technically an Amber Woody fragrance.

The top notes feature blueberry, cassis, thyme, violet leaf. The middle notes utilize jasmine, cedar, cinnamon. The base notes are patchouli, amber, suede, caramel, oakmont.

As you can see, the nose behind Bleecker Street, David Apel, leveraged a number of intense notes to combine for this fragrance’s popular scent. In 1991, Apel won the American Society of Perfumers Young Perfumer Award. His resume is ripe with a long and illustrious perfume creation history. Bleecker Street certainly fairs as another perfume he’s successfully launched.

The complexity of Bleecker Street’s notes are often a confounding read. In other words, it can be difficult to guess how this fragrance smells.

Some compare it to Dior’s Fahrenheit due to the initial violet leaf which pops from the skin upon initial fritz.

After the initial spritz, a deeper, more leathery and earthy scent begins to fill in as the middle and base notes take hold. At this juncture, Bleecker Street begins to flex its scent complexity in bold fashion.

Bleecker Street overall uplifts with its refreshing scent profile. You’ll feel a bit cleaner for the wear while sporting it.
