TikTok Perfume? The Company’s Owner Set To launch New Perfume

Earlier this month, we reported that New York-based visual artist Danilo Lauria launched an NFT perfume.

Last week, Ghost in a Shell launched a Manga perfume

So what’s happening this week? Of course, some sort of news that follows the trend of an ever-evolving fragrance creation industry.

The company which owns the world-famous TikTok is now getting into the perfume game. ByteDance, a Chinese multinational company that owns TikTok among many other prized possessions, is launching a new perfume.

The new perfume is called Emotif. And no, we don’t know how it will smell, how much it will cost, or if perfume samples will be available on our site. We just know that the same company which owns TikTok is about to get into the perfume market.

Back in November of 2018, it was reported that the company’s massive following included 800 million daily active users. That’s an insane amount of reach which the company is likely to leverage as it promotes Emotif.

It would seem there’s a current trend developing whereas not only do celebrities want in on perfume interest but also companies. As a result, perfumes may become a standard extension of a major company’s brand.

A lot of this smells like extensive marketing more than legitimate attempts at creating superb fragrances. Let’s be honest; we’re giving this media attention while we have no idea how good the product may turn out. So in a sense, marketing and branding certainly work.

This latest corporate trend shows that people want new and unique perfumes. It’s a testament to a thriving fragrance vertical. While we’d expect a lot of fragrance duds, we also believe the increased competition will provoke a lot of winners as well.

All the same, when shall we expect the first Emotif TikTok push? We will have to wait to find out.
