Fabio Says Versace Screwed Him Out of Millions in Perfume Money

When you think of Fabio, you most likely think of long flowing hair blowing in the wind. Now 62, Fabio lives a bit less provocatively. But during his heydays in the 1990s, he was a highly sought-after sex symbol model. And that’s precisely why Gianni Versace courted him for perfume ads.

But nearly 30 years later, it seems something went wrong with the perfume ad deal.

Fabio recently told “People in the ’90s” podcast that in the 90s, he starred in a Mediterranneum perfume campaign. Fabio says the ad has resulted in millions for the deceased fashion designers still thriving business. But yeah, Fabio claims he’s not seen much money for it.

“It was a multi-multimillion-dollar contract, plus 6% of the growth, of sell,” Fabio claimed. “When I started advertising, all of a sudden it became one of the best colognes out there. I was doing appearances; 15,000, 18,000, 20,000 people were showing up outside of Saks Fifth Avenue.”

Fabio says that the contract is the biggest contract a model had ever signed on to at that time.

“So, I got a contract even bigger than Cindy Crawford and the rest of the female models,” Fabio claimed.

Fabio also asserts that Versace was not much of a reliable character, to put it gently.

“You know, unfortunately, Versace wasn’t a very honest man. God bless his soul, but the truth is the truth. He wasn’t a very honest person,” he said.

Want to know who didn’t screw Fabio out of cold hard cash?

Yeah, “I Can’t Believe Its Not Butter.”

Darn Straight.
