In the Lap of Luxury: A Review of Versace Dreamer
Versace is one of the worlds most memorable, classic, and edgy fashion brands. Their fragrance line hardly deviates from their refined approach to all things beauty. With Versace Dreamer, we find a luxurious and powerful fragrance performer that’s at the ready for nearly any event or happening.
About Versace Dreamer
Versace Dreamer is a men’s fragrance. It was launched back in 1996 to moderate success. Everything Versace launches has some success, so that doesn’t always mean much.
Jean-Pierre Bethouart created the scent. The French nose is an esteemed perfumer who’s other notable creations include Burberry Touch for Men, Boucheron Boucheron, and Versace Blue Jeans.
Without question, Versace Dreamer is considered a highly polarizing fragrance. People either adore it, or feel a sage despite towards it. There’s rarely people in the middle. This is probably due to the unique floral and tobacco blend. ITs an odd pairing, and a risk at the nose of Bethouart, but one that’s ultimately paid off.
Also, this is one of the final fragrances produced under the direction of Versace himself. Big deal, yep.
The bottle features a dream-like state and a logo, which appears like Medusa. The packaging is gorgeous and invokes a warm summer’s night out in the mountains somewhere – at least, for us it does. You may feel a different vibe! But no matter, Versace Dreamer packaging offers a beautiful gift.

For the record, all of our perfume samples help consumers discover which scents they love (or don’t love) without tumbling into financial gloom. Using a perfume sample in every day life helps you understand how the scent changes given temperature and environments, how long it will last you, and any other effects.
How Does Versace Dreamer Smell?
Again, Dreamer is a polarizing and sometimes perplexing fragrance. For those who don’t appreciate it, they commonly interpret it’s smell as more antiseptic. But those who do love it gather a clean woody smell that’s refreshing and vibrant.
The top notes are orange, lavender, and sage. Rose, tobacco, and geranium are found in the middle notes. The base notes leverage tobacco blossom and amber. In the base notes, Bethouart leverages fir, tonka bean, vetiver and cedar.
The opening features the sweet mandarin orange right away. After it pops with sweetness, it goes into a more deep woodsy and amber experience. There’s a powdery feel, much like Burberry Touch. In fact, Burberry Touch is the most comparable scent.
Dreamer opens sweet, but the dry down offers a warmer vibe due to the woody notes.
Dreamer is a very strong scent, make no doubt about it. The tobacco balances out the scent as a whole, depending on how you ultimately feel about it. Again, you can try a Dreamer sample and decide where this fragrance falls on your scent likeability spectrum.
Final Notes
Versace Dreamer is a floral, tobacco scent that tends to polarize consumers. Some people feel it smells like a cleaner solution, others enjoy its unique tobacco and sweet balancing act. We have Dreamer samples available for those who prefer trying a fragrance prior to purchasing a full bottle. We got you, folks.
