Marc Jacobs Daisy Review – Seductive, Peppy, But Is It For You?
Marc Jacobs Daisy is a top-selling women’s perfume. Its popularity hardly surprises critics, given its name-brand appeal. But is Daisy perfume good? Or is it hype?
Check out our Marc Jacobs Daisy review and decide if this is a fragrance you’re willing to give a chance.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Review – The Basics
Marc Jacobs Daisy is considered a floral musk fragrance. Shortly after its 2007 launch, it became one of the top women’s perfumes in the country. Only a year following the launch, Daisy won two prominent fragrance awards, including Fifi Award Fragrance of the Year. The other award was for the bottle, which is pretty awesome, but you don’t wear a bottle, so it’s a bit less significant.
That said, this is what an award-winning perfume bottle looks like…
The full bottle often comes with body lotion.
You can try Marc Jacobs Daisy samples, which allows you to test out the fragrance for a small portion of the cost.
What Does Marc Jacobs Daisy Smell Like?
Perfumer Alberto Morillas crafted Daisy’s musky, floral notes. Violet leaf and blood grapefruit lead the charge as the top notes. That’s an unusual, risky combination that only a perfumer of Morillas stature could concoct. The famous Spanish perfumer, now 71 (1951), is also the nose behind Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò and Calvin Klein CK One.
Violet and Jasmine are tucked in the middle, with Musk, White Woods, and Vanilla as a sophisticated base.
The musky notes don’t hamper Daisy’s feminine experience. On the contrary, this is a seductive, sexy aroma that compliments what’s beautiful around it. There’s a hint of strawberry at times which adds to the floral notes.
Daisy is very fruity. If you don’t love an in-your-face fruity floral experience, you probably won’t enjoy Daisy. That’s more a subjective decision than anything else. We rate the scent high, but not for those who don’t enjoy heavy floral notes.
How Long Does Marc Jacobs Daisy Last?
Around 5-hours, which is a bit below the top perfumes, but this award-winning perfume makes up for that with its scent. Refreshing isn’t a big deal but can add to the expense of the perfume.
Advertising Campaigns
Marc Jacobs leverages the brand of model Kaia Jordan Gerber for their Daisy perfume advertising campaigns. One of the recent commercials came out 4-years-ago. Given Gerber is now only 19-years-old, the company isn’t hiding who it’s target demographic is. That said, Daisy is a perfume for any age of a woman.
Final Notes
While Marc Jacobs advertises Daisy perfume towards a younger demographic, the aroma has proven a winner for women of all ages. It’s an award-winning fragrance that always finds itself in the top perfumes for women category.
