Jay-Z Wins Massive Perfume Lawsuit to Tune of $4.5 Million

Jay-Z is richer this afternoon, which is saying a lot given he’s reportedly worth $1.4 billion. The rap icon and mega-producer finally won his battle with celebrity perfume company, Parlux.

Parlux sued Jay-Z back in 2016, claiming the rap mogul didn’t live up to his contractual appearance schedule after launching a cologne under his name.

Parlux also claimed Jay-Z refused to do media events over Gold Jay-Z (because, of course, that’s the name of his cologne).

Parlux wanted the court to order Jay-Z to pay $18 million. But alas, the legal maneuver failed to produce results and, in fact, went south for Parlux. An appellate court ruled that Jay-Z is the victim and ordered Parlux to pay him $4.5 million in royalties.

And of course, a jury followed up, saying Jay-Z owed Parlux nothing.
