Does Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather Live Up To The Hype? We’ll Review.

Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather is one of the top fragrances in the world. It is often compared and contrasted with Creed’s Aventus. But it should be noted Tuscan Leather is a unisex perfume, even though it often gets touted as a mens’ fragrance. The masculine perception is likely rooted in its leathery notes. But hey, women dig leather, so let’s slow our collective rolls, shall we?

In our Tuscan Leather review, we will dive into how it smells, sample availability, longevity, and marketing. When it comes to perfume reviews, it all matters, folks.

Tuscan Leather Review – The Basics

Tuscan Leather is a part of Tom Ford’s exclusive Private Blend collection. It was launched in 2007 and currently comes in 50ml and 250ml bottles. We carry Tuscan Leather samples for those interested. And given that a retail Tuscan Leather bottle price tag is over $400, all of you should be interested in sampling the fragrance.

Tuscan Leather is known as a complex fragrance, but oddly, it leverages the potency of a single accord.

What Does Tuscan Leather Smell Like?

In the top notes, we find saffron, thyme, and raspberry. In the middoe, we ge Jasmine and olibanum. The base notes feature leather, suede, amber, and woody additions.

Humans love leather. Leather smell often reminds us of new experiences, such as a new expensive handbag or car. Leather offers us a sexy, somewhat aphrodisiac appeal.

When perfumers Harry Frémont and Jacques Cavallier created Tuscan Leather, they understood all of this. They didn’t overcomplicate the scent; they refined an already seductive, alluring scent.

While the top notes are fruity, don’t expect a sweet opening. Tuscan Leather brings the smoky, leathery right to the top. The floral top helps balance the woody layers, but they don’t overtake.

Oddly, the smoky aspect of Tuscan Leather tends to override the leathery element.

While “when to wear” any fragrance certainly is subjective, Tuscan Leather feels evening and upscale to me.

Now, for the not-so-great news. Tuscan Leather doesn’t tend to have much longevity. Being the bottles are expensive, subpar longevity is worsened.

Final Notes

Tuscan Leather is an evening wear unisex fragrance, although we find more men gravitating towards it. It’s woody and leather and somewhat mysterious. However, it’s very pricey, so you are better off sampling it. And yes, we have Tuscan Leather samples in stock
