Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille Review – What’s It Smell Like?

Welcome to our Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille review. It’s time to figure out if this big box fragrance is the real deal or just a scent imposter. Tom Ford has a reputation for bold scents, including Lost Cherry, so we hold high expectations.

But expectations are just that until we get some hard proof. But, hey, perfume reviews are a subjective endeavor, so let’s not get too, too ahead of ourselves.

The creator of the scent, Olivier Gillotin, is the senior perfumer at Givaudan. He’s got a reputation for creating some of the top perfumes on the market today. Tom Ford is a big box perfume maker, so no doubt they can afford his talents. Gillotin is the nose behind Tobacco Vanille.

Launched in 2007, Tobacco Vanille has been a big market success. Of course, it has the advertising budget to help it make waves. That said, it’s over a decade old, which means it has truly withstood the test of time.

What Does Tobacco Vanille Smell Like?

Tobacco Vanille is a spicy, woody experience. At its top, you catch tobacco and spice. Don’t worry; you won’t smell as though you snuck out of dinner for a quick cigarette. Tobacco Vanille lends itself to more of an aged tobacco scent that’s spice attributes provoking the olfactory system.

With Tonka Bean, Cacao, wood, and some dried fruits are thrown into the middle and base, Tobacco Vanille never dances in the nostrils like many fruity or floral experiences do.

Tobacco Vanille is a strong, unisex perfume. Though, due to its spicy tobacco notes, many wrongly assume it’s a man’s fragrance. But that’s simply not true. Tobacco Vanille offers both men and women a powerful all-day scent.

But it is strong. You place just a tiny spritz on your wrist and you can expect Tobacco Vanille to last for a while. Even when you shower, Tobacco Vanille may live on.

The tobacco doesn’t punch you in the nose (I mentioned this before). Even though the tobacco remains a top note, it’s not jumping out at you as if you’ve loitered in a cigar bar talking about hunting elk in Wyoming. It’s there; it is subtle, it is classy and sophisticated.

How Long Does Tobacco Vanille Last?

Tobacco Vanille can last up to 10-hours and maybe longer. We’ve seen reports of people complaining that they showered and washed it off, only to end up catching whiffs of it the next morning. That’s either a good or bad thing for people, depending on what they are looking for. One thing seems for sure, apply Tobacco Vanille in the morning and it’s still good for dinner.

Tobacco Vanille Advertising

Tom Ford acquired the directing skills of famed director, Hans Emanuel. And though I consistently said in this Tobacco Vanille review that you would not smell as though you hung out for hours in a cigar bar, the commercial pitches otherwise.

It is what it is. We can agree to disagree, Hans.

Final Notes

Tobacco Vanille is a spicy, unisex perfume that’s deep and sensual in its notes. It’s an anti-floral fragrance that both genders can enjoy. We have Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille sample in stock for those who just want to get their toes wet.
