Space Rage Travx by Byredo Review: Space in a Bottle?

There’s a lot of celebrity perfumes out there. Without question, there are posers, brand-leveragers orbiting amongst some really high-end stuff. Yes, I used the term “orbiting” to set up our Space Rage Travx by Byredo review. Because, I had to flex those writing chops. And because, I’m worried about reviewing a perfume that supposedly smells like space?

Being I’ve never been to space and you’ve never been to space (let’s be honest, the odds are in my favor for the latter), this Space Rage Travx review is complicated stuff.

So let’s board this rocket ship and see where we land. What do you all say?

Space Rage Travx by Byredo Review: The Basics

Jacques Bermon Webster II, professionally known by Travis Scott, is one of the most famous rappers in the country. Some may know him by La Flame or Cacti, but whatever name you use as his name, Travis Scott is a household name in the rap world.

Add on that Scott is having his second child with Kylie Jenner and it is impossible to dispute his global reach.

So yeah, of course, Travis Scott launched a unisex perfume in 2020. When you get famous enough, the next clear career move is to launch a celebrity perfume. Sometimes this works; other times, this fails. For Dolly Parton and Ariana Grande, this worked. But I’m sad to say, for Travis Scott, I’m dialing in a cold fail.

Space Rage Travx is bad, and it hurts my heart to say this because I love Travis Scott as a rapper. But as a perfumer, he just doesn’t make the cut.

Scott teamed up with Swedish fragrance company Byredo to help produce Space Rage Travx. Byredo also paired up with IKEA to create a home fragrance, so it is safe to say that they are no stranger to taking chances on bizarre scents.

What Does Space Rage Travx Smell Like?

Space Rage Travx bills itself as smelling like space. Already, we got problems.

What does space smell like? I’ve never considered this question because I suppose I’ve always assumed that space does not smell. If I consider that space smells, I can’t imagine it’s a smell I want it lathered on my wrists and neck. Does the premise of smelling like the Star Trek Enterprise excite me? No, it does not.

Already, Space Rage Travx feels more gimmicky than a serious fragrance play. And that feeling carries over to the bottle design, which features poorly written text. Maybe the idea is that someone designed the Space Rage Travx bottle while in a weightless atmosphere?

space rage travx perfume review

Space Rage Travx is essentially Byredo Pulp repackaged. It’s a fruit basket of fragrances, nothing to do with outer space. Space Rage Travx is a super fruity pulp experience. Expect passionfruit, figs, and grapefruit as the main notes.

How Long Does Space Rage Travx Last?

Space Rage Travx is an extremely short-lived perfume lasting under an hour.

Space Rage Travx Advertising, Commercials

Nothing to speak of, all viral, influencer based marketing.

Final Notes

Very gimmicky, doesn’t last long, and doesn’t smell like space (at least, I’m guessing). Space Rage Travx is a super fruity Byredo Pulp knock-off. I do not recommend it unless you want the bottle as a novelty. Certainly, Travis Scott is a global rap phenomenon, so there’s something cool about displaying the bottle. But in terms of wearability, it’s pretty blah.
